Love Happens
Here's a Happy Story we recently received. You'll enjoy reading it; it's clever and witty. It also validates not only my belief that geography is not destiny but also our no-pictures philosophy.

Bill lived in rural New York. I lived in urban Kansas. He was 51. I was 46. He never put his profile on line. I labored over mine. He says it was a match from the start. I insist that I dumped him after our first weekend together. We both know this is the love of our lives.
Profiles without photos are a good thing. Somewhat shallow, I never would have given him a chance. He is tall, while I preferred men my size, and has a nose the size of Bermuda. Of course, I am gorgeous. I sent him a photo and a work video. He sent me a Polaroid that he'd taken with the camera at his face. I was so frightened, I immediately ripped it up and pretended I never received it.
We met in Kansas City for our first encounter. My friends were fearful I'd be dead within an hour. Without a cell phone, I promised to call one of them throughout the weekend using a calling card.
The long-distance courtship went on for five-and-a-half years. I lived near my aging parents and was raising a son near his father. He had two sons in school and coached one of them in basketball. After my son graduated from high school, I moved to New York to a house he is still making livable for me. That was more than four years ago.
We have shared the death of our parents, trials with exes and kids, and many work-related crises. Although he would say it is pure bliss, I will tell you no relationship is easy. But, we both know we want it to last for the rest of our lives. Oh, and the sex, I've never had it so good.
